HISTORY

Ellicott City’s history dates back to the early Revolutionary era. Over time, the B&O railroad moved into the area with Ellicott’s Mills becoming the first terminus outside of Baltimore in 1830. Today, the Ellicott City Station is a National Historic Landmark and is known as the oldest surviving railroad station in America.
